Denver Mayoral Candidates
These policies matter, so this is why for the first time, NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado invited candidates for Mayor of Denver to fill out a questionnaire about their beliefs on municipal policy supporting reproductive freedom. Their responses are below.
Denver has 27 abortion clinics, 14 Title X clinics and 5 recognized “Crisis Pregnancy Centers,” which are more accurately known as fake clinics, or organizations that lie to women about their healthcare in order to discourage and stigmatize abortion care. According to the National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH), Denver rates a 2.5 out of 5 on the Local Reproductive Freedom Index and frankly, Denver can do better.
While we will not be making endorsements in the Mayoral election, NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado has over 14,000 members in the City of Denver. Our members are an overwhelmingly active and engaged voting block who deserve to know where their candidates stand on defending reproductive freedom. All people who can become pregnant deserve to know where their leaders stand on their right to access the full spectrum of healthcare.
Please use this information to inform your vote, and return your ballot to the City Clerk by May 7th. Thank you for being a pro-choice voter!
